Branding photography with small businesses fill my heart with such inspiration 💕
Some people may not know, but I have years of product photography experience, and I know how to plan ahead for e-commerce and social media scheduling. Your customers want to know more about you and feel a connection when they choose to support you with their money, so the perfect way to do that is with a branding session showing your individuality.
.
And individuality is what Jessica (owner of Hippie Witch) brought to the shoot in spades! Jessica is a joy to hang out with, she’s hilarious, and is so knowledgeable about her product, skincare and business-owning in general. I traveled to her shop in Port Orchard with my portable lights and we got to work checking off boxes on our shot list.
We knew we wanted a mix of product shots, candid-looking photos where the product is in use, and headshots of Jessica. She already had a good amount of catalogue images for her e-commerce site, so she was looking for more evergreen images that she could use on social media and in marketing for longer term. We were sure to pick products that she was planning on having in stock always.
Headshots are the most fun when you are laughing! So we made sure to not take ourselves too seriously. That’s what I love doing with clients: chatting and cracking jokes while I snap away and capture their true selves. Pose coaching is so important, especially for folks who aren’t used to being in front of the camera. I made sure to create flattering poses and kept an eye on her hair and jewelry to make sure it didn’t get in her face or tangled (easier to fix in the moment, rather than photoshopping it out later!)
I’m SO grateful for awesome small business owners who trust me with their vision! I always walk away with more inspiration, a great connection, and usually buy a product or two! (Hippie Witch’s soaps are amazing!!) Are you a PNW mall business who needs professional images for web and social media? Hit me up! I would love to discuss how I can help.
